Today we had one of our really big and important activities: Peace-War-Peace. Kids were divided into 6 groups and their task was to build a city out of arts and crafts materials. Then they were blindfolded and led to a city from a different group. Then we tried to encourage them to destroy this city, some of the groups did, some of them did not. Then we led them back to their own city, and they discovered, that their city was also destroyed, and then had to rebuild their city. Afterwards we discussed about their feelings and war and peace.
This was a very emotional activity, some of the kids were really upset and close to crying, when they disoverd, that their city was also destroyed.
This activity lasted pretty much all day, at the end of the third activity period we play “Capture the Flag”.
The night activity was the National Night of Germany.
